Threatened and Endangered Species Mural Project
Highlighting Montana’s threatened and endangered species through art.
A joint mural project between the Craighead Institute and our partners on each project. We would like to thank all of our donors for this project including the Sweet Pea Festival, the Valley of the Flowers Chapter of the Montana Native Plant Society and private donors.

An article about the Endangered Species project appeared in the Bozeman Chronicle in August 2019.

Our fourth mural, the grizzly bear, was completed in May 2020 and can be seen 1110 So. Willson.  The mural is wrapped instead of painted onto the fence. The mural is hosted by Anna and Steve Neff. We would like to thank The Wrap Agency for their support and wonderful rendition of the grizzly bear.

The third mural was completed in  April 2020 with support from the Montana Native Plant Society, Valley of the Flowers Chapter. The Bozeman Chronicle article can be seen HERE.

Our first mural of whooping cranes was funded by Sweet Pea Foundation! We convened a panel of judges and had them vote on their favorite submissions from the eleven other threatened and endangered species and the winners are shown below. The winning designs were displayed at Sweet Pea where the public determined which mural will be the next to be painted by ‘voting’ with a minimum $1 donation for their favorite design. You can help support this project by donating online at the Craighead Institute’s webpage www.craigheadinstitute.org
